Manhattan GMAT vs Manhatatn Review [#permalink]
Out of curiosity? Why do you think that Manhattan GMAT is more legit? I've also been looking into both of those places so that I could start my GMAT review. Do you think that the books that Manhattan GMAT use are any better than Manhattan Review?

oh god, if I'd seen this post I would have posted sooner. I haven't used Reivew, so I can't tell you about them. But I've taken classes with Manhattan gmat and it was a really bad experience. Their teachers are alright, but experiences in actual good MBA schools seem lacking. Also, the service was really bad overall and my teacher was not very helpful. I was looking to improve my score a lot and i went up only about 20-30 pts. It was a big mistake for me. I know there's a lot of people on this board that really like MGMAT but I felt like their class was really not helpful if I wanted to get a really high score (like in the 700's).

I have used Manhattan Review and they are 100% legit. I had already prepared quite a bit before going to the class and so I don't think it was a huge benefit, though the intructor & materials were excellent. It was more concerned with teaching the fundamentals than tricks or number picking strategies, which was what put me off Kaplan.

The materials are aimed towards the higher end, I would say they are comparable to KAP 800, the Verbal is awesomely difficult.

I would certainly recommend it if you need a kick start to your prep, however if you are already quite advanced then it is possibly not worth it. But at the end of the day if it improves your score by 10 points and that 10 is the difference that gets you into your choice of school, then i'm sure most people would be happy to pay the $1k or whatever.
