Do MBA graduates with STEM need to do the works highly pertinent to their concentration to gain the OPT? How about the situation for the general MBA graduates?

Hi. You don’t have to work within a concentration but your job has to be somehow STEM-related.
Also, nobody cares what concentration or focus you had during your MBA. A lot of times, it’s not even mentioned on the diploma. Anyway, it’s not really relevant, since you can graduate with an MBA and get a job as a consultant or a product manager or financial analyst but your job has to have the STEM component in it.
A lot of times Jobs can be made sound like they have a lot of STEM components… Otherwise, how is management consulting A STEM occupation? Sure you need to do analysis but a lot of it is presentation building and talking and doing research which it’s fairly generic. However, a hiring manager can make it sound pretty technical by loading it up with financial analysis and programming component and analytics.
