For the GMAT, are you expected to know off by heart common trig identities? E.g. sin45, cos60, tan30 etc..

Also, are you expected to have memorised formulae like the volume of a sphere?

You don't need trigonometry. As for what you should memorize, one possible set of content areas can be found here.

Hi jamalabdullah100,

No need to memorize formulas for 3D geometry - the formula is given in the question.

Trigonometry is not directly.But, it is good to know that the sides are always in the ratio 1: \(\sqrt {3}\) :2a for a right triangle where the angles are 30°, 60°, and 90°, and 1:1:\(\sqrt{2}\) for 45°, 45°, and 90° right triangle. Rfer to the math book, you can find the link in the previous link.

Hi jamalabdullah100,

The GMAT does not test you on trig. If you’d like to see some helpful quant formulas/concepts worth memorizing, feel free to check out my GMAT quant cheat sheet. Just remember that memorizing formulas is analogous to bringing all of the necessary materials -- the aluminum, the carbon fiber, the wiring, the avionics, the tires, the glass, etc. -- into a Boeing 787 production hanger. Yes, you need those materials to build the plane, but simply having them isn’t enough to make the plane fly.
