ESCP or ESADE?

Post completion of my Msc i want to take up a job (preferably in a FMCG org) and in the long term i want to start something of my own, either in India or outside.

In terms of the background, I have worked in a research & consultancy firm for 2 years. Currently i am employed in my family business (this is where i have gained majority of my experience in marketing). Have a GMAT of 710. Above Average academic and extra-curricular record.

- If specifically looking at FMCG, then ESCP would be better, as they have more people from the program going into that sector. Overall placements are higher for ESADE, but they are more skewed towards roles in Manufacturing and Consulting.
- With a GMAT of 710, why not consider the LBS MiM or the HEC MiM?

I am looking at doing a specialised masters. Also regarding MiM I have not got positive reviews in terms of employment post course completion. I spoke to a couple of Indian students who went for the course and did not get the desired employment even in India.

Also I have reading online blogs, everywhere it says that studying in France and London will provide me with a better international exposure as compared to Spain. Is that true ?

Both are highly reputed schools in their respective countries, so the decision mostly boils down to your long term goals and country preferences.
- Firstly go through the curriculum of both programs and check if there is any track/elective that specifically interests you. (Eg: ESCP is known to have a strong digital marketing track, so if this if you are interested in a digital marketing profile in your target sector, this should interest you)
- Regarding the job profiles,ESCP has about 23% of its class getting into FMCG and consulting, while ESADE has majority placements in Manufacturing and technology.

Lastly,I can understand your apprehension regarding job prospects after MiM. Let me help you get clarity on this in the most tangible way possible.
You have not mentioned the profile of the people who could not get a job either in India or abroad post the degree. There can be 2 reasons for this - If you are an international applicant, then it is always recommended to go for the top 10 schools as this strategy will give you securer job prospects. Maybe the universities of the people in question were lacking in brand or maybe they could not get a work visa. Secondly, it also depends on how much you are willing to hustle and network during your program duration. Schools will give you avenues, but it is ultimately up-to you on what you can make of them. ( This goes for the top schools as well).

About not finding a job in India after the degree, this depends upon the timeline when they located. If he/she had relocated to India immediately or within 2 years of the degree, the job prospects in India will be skewed. By rule of thumb,you should always think of relocating after working for a minimum of 2 years in the country where you have studied. Once you have a good work experience post the degree, you are bound to find decent job prospects in the Indian Market as well.

Lastly, about the job prospects in Spain, until a while ago International students in Spain were having a hard time getting a job due to the stringent visa laws. However, the Spanish government has recently announced a 1 year work visa law for internationals, which should boost the job prospects significantly.
London on the other hand has way stricter Visa Regulations, so do keep this in mind.

To surmise, be it France, London, Spain, aim for the Top 5 in these countries and the prospects should look good.
