Doesn't 5.3457 rounded to the nearest thousandth become 5.346?

Statement 1

(1) On rounding to the nearest thousandth, the number becomes 5.350

The thousandths digit of 5.3pq7 is 'q' so the only way in which this can happen is if the number is 5.3497. I do not see any other possibility where the hundredths digit becomes '5' and the thousandths becomes '0'. For example, if the number were 5.3457, it would round to 5.346 to the nearest thousandth.

Sufficient

(2) On rounding to the nearest hundredth, the number becomes 5.35

The number can be 5.3547 or 5.3487

Insufficient
