Hi to all,
I have been studying GMAT for approx. 2 months now. I did the 2 official practise tests and scored 750 and 740 respectively. Then i purchased the 2 additional tests and on the 3rd practise test i scored 740. At that point i was assured that my score range is above 700. However, yesterday i did the 4th test and i scored 680 (i did 31/31 at quant and 28/36 at verbal). What shocked me was the fact that in the quant section, all the questions were very very easy and i finished quant with a 20minutes spare time (even when i googled the questions, they have an average difficulty of 10-15%, in contrast with the other tests that had some hard questions). Verbal on the other hand had some difficult questions, but my mistakes were not consequtive. Yet, i scored "low" compared to my other performances. Were the results acurrate on the 4th exam? Because i was a little worried at that point! Thanks for your time in advance.
The score you see is
reasonably accurate. The actual exam will probably not give you a bunch of easy questions if you're doing well, but the algorithm on the official practice tests (the GMAT and the official practice tests have the same algorithm) takes question difficulty into account, which means that it compensates (somewhat) for issues like the one you faced.
If you want to take another practice test before you take the actual exam, you can try taking
practice test 5.
