GMAT Online // skipped IR and AWA // can my score get cancelled?

Question

Dear All,

yesterday I had my GMAT online test.
Now I do have to admit that I am a little concerned as I may have done something not particularly clever.

As I know that the university I want to apply for (should) only looks for the quantitative and the verbal part, and as after those two parts I thought that I hadn´t achieved the required score, I just guessed every single answer in the IR (it took me <2 min) and wrote in the AWA that neither AWA nor IR are relevant for my application, therofe I "skipped" them (it took me less <1 min).

At the end I got the score I needed but 1 point in IR and 0 in AWA (what is okay for me).
Only after the exam

I read that the council may cancel the exam in case of unusual answer patter, unusual schore changes [..].
It is clear that this unusual answer patterns did not lead to a better result. So there should be no suspect that I have cheated.

But... Do you think that my score may be cancelled anyway?

Don't think that you will get a report showing IR 0 amd AWA 0..In all probability, it's likely to be cancelled..

There’s no issue about the test and skipping sections. There’s nothing that says in the rules that you must attempt and painfully answer every single question

Hello,  Samuele1995 . There is no way you could be penalized for such a poor performance on IR especially. You marked your answers, so you completed the section. Some people put effort into their selections and still walk away with, say, a 3. The AWA score may make you look a little lazy to an admissions committee, even if that score is not required by the school. And of course, you are limiting your options with 0. That said, you paid your money to take the exam, you finished it, and you did not cheat and turn in a magical 1-minute IR8 or AWA 6.0, so there is no reason to doubt that your score will be finalized.

If you do gain admission to your target school, you will congratulate yourself for not having invested time and effort in these two silly side sections. Good luck.

No. You "skipped" those sections, but you didn't actually skip them.

The fact that you received an official GMAT score means that what you did is not a test security issue.

You needn't worry about score cancellation. I just hope the university is fine with the 0 in AWA.

I also don't see any reason why your score would be canceled. That said, I assume you are still waiting for your official score to come back?
