The posts regarding the happiness guarantee were posted back in 2010 before GMATClub started charging fees for partners like GMATPill to be listed.
We are proud of these posts as they show our confidence in what we do. No one else was as generous as we were with this happiness guarantee, and we wanted to stay that way for as long as we could.
But
things changed when we learned about a new development within GMATClub: large monthly fees for GMAT companies in order to get listed. We wanted to get listed and we wanted to keep our happiness guarantee - but we couldn't do both.
As such, in order to remain competitive, we updated our guarantee policy to be a little bit more competitive,
but still better than everyone else's. So that's when we implemented the 50 point guarantee. We believe sacrificing the happiness guarantee in order to be
1 of only 5 partners (at the time) with GMATClub would be worth it.
Still the 50 point guarantee we offer is pretty solid and
one of the best in the industry. It would not make sense to offer a guarantee just for taking half the program. With other programs, you're not even allowed to buy individual sections of their courses. But we do offer that extra flexibility - just without the guarantee as reasonably expected.
And yes, when we updated the guarantee policy, it was clear at the top of our homepage and still is: a 50 point guarantee. Additionally, the GMATPill logo used throughout the GMATClub forum includes the phrase "+50 points."
Having said all the above,
you really shouldn't be focused on ANY guarantee as a magic key to your future success. We believe we have an extraordinary product that can
help you perform to the best of your ability on exam day - both in terms of timing and accuracy--and
we have plenty of stories to back that up. We want to help you present the most competitive side of you for your application. That's why we
show so many free videos on our site - to help you make that decision of whether GMATPill is right for you.
But in the end,
it is you who must carry yourself over that MBA finish line - not anybody else. Get the best help you can get within a reasonable budget, but don't rely on anybody or any company guarantee you results without you pushing yourself over that finish line. Let others help you, but hold yourself accountable for your own future success.
