Goizueta Career Goals question

Hi,

I am applying to Goizueta 2yr program for the Fall 2014 batch.
I was wondering if you could help me understand the career goals essay posted in this year's application.

"What is your short-term career goal and why is an MBA from Goizueta an important next step toward that goal? If your initial career plans are not realized, what else are you considering? "

As i see it, the question asks for 3 things -
1. What is your goal?
2. Why is Goizueta MBA required to accomplish it/How will Goizueta help you accomplish it?
3. What is your back up goal/plan?

I would like to know if the Adcom are looking for a no-nonsense answer or am i required to elaborate on the reason for my goal (motivation through experiences)?
I ask because the word count is just 200 words!

Any inputs are appreciated :)

From what I've read, Goizueta places a LOT of emphasis on the interview (I recently read 40%). Your essays will have to stand out, but it's during the interview that your career goals will really have to shine.

Their employment rate is the draw of the school, and in order to keep it pristine, they will want to make sure that you'll have no trouble during an actual job interview... which is why they put so much emphasis on their own interview. The more clearly you can articulate that you are qualified and hireable, the better you'll do.

Well, with 200 words a no-nonsense answer is likely gonna be your only choice :)

My thoughts exactly.
But then how do we draft a compelling essay which will stand out if our career aspirations aren't the most unique of the lot?

Another thing to add (in addition to the other two posters with whom I completely agree) is that Goizueta is known for its question: "What happens if you plan A doesn't work out?"

So you have twice the work. Not only do you need a Plan A that is well thought out and articulated, but you need a Plan B as well.
