Hi ashish65,

I'm sorry to hear that Test Day did not go as well as hoped. When these types of score drops occur, the two likely "causes" involve either something that was unrealistic during practice or something that was surprising (or not accounted for) on Test Day. Before we discuss those issues though, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied?
2) What study materials have you used so far?

Goals:
3) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
4) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

Hi EMPOWERgmatRichC , Thanks for replying.
1) After my 1st mock, I studied on and off for almost 1.5 months. My study was not thoroughly planned. But I made a point to study for atleast 3-4 hrs every day. I also lacked direction. Went on to redo topics that I felt I was lagging in.
2) I first completed the OG and then bought the Magoosh App. Mostly, I practised extensively from OG and Magoosh and gave Manhattan Prep Mocks and GMATPrep mocks.

3)I want to do MS in Supply Chain Management. Actually, I am already late right now. I wanted to apply right after my GMAT for Fall 19 but that is quite difficult now as I wanted to apply for a scholarship too.
4) My first preference is the Naveen Jindal School Of Management at UT Dallas. It's avg intake GMAT score is around 600 and if the applicant scores above 600, then he is likely to get a 50% scholarship.

What changes do I need to do in my preparation and also which material should I use other than OG and Magoosh? Also, how much time will it realistically take for me to reach the 600+ level provided I can study full time now ? Thank you for helping out.

Hi ashish65,

Many Test Takers spend 3 months (or more) of consistent study time before they hit their 'peak' scores, so if you studied for less than 1.5 months AND you studied inconsistently, then it's likely that you have not put in enough time and effort to have scored higher yet. Raising a 470 to the point that you can consistently score 600+ will likely require at least another 2 months of consistent, guided study - and you'll have to make significant improvements to how you handle BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections. Thankfully, the GMAT is a consistent, predictable Exam, so you CAN train to score at a higher level.

I have a few questions about how you took your CATs:
1) On what dates did you take each of your CATs and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for each)?
2) Did you take the ENTIRE CAT each time (including the Essay and IR sections)?
3) Did you take them at home?
4) Did you take them at the same time of day as when you took your Official GMAT?
5) Did you ever do ANYTHING during your CATs that you couldn't do on Test Day (pause the CAT, skip sections, take longer breaks, etc.)?
6) Did you ever take a CAT more than once? Had you seen any of the questions BEFORE (re: on a prior CAT, in an online forum or in a practice set)?
