I am facing problems with the long passages that are around 65 to 70 lines..I take 12 to 14 mins out here and less time is left for the rest questions...can u please help me out on the strategies for the same....I was thinking of just reading the first and the last para and skim the middle paras reading only the first and the last line of middle paras.

on the real test you will face with 2 small one medium and one long passage.
12 min for reading is a lot. increase your speed without loosing the comprehension.

Spending more time reading the first and last paragraph, while scanning the middle paragraphs is a useful strategy, as long as you have a sense of how the middle paragraphs relate to the passage.
Not getting bogged down in the inevitable details of the middle paragraphs should help you shave 12 minutes down to 10 minutes.
Of course the time you spend answering questions can also slow you down. Having a strong sense of the passage when you read through it first, so that you are able to anticipate the answers to questions and quickly find the relevant part of the passage, will help immensely.
