A person questioned me reg: to take GRE or GMAT with 3 years experience...so I felt if I could answer here it would clarify to many of them who have similar queries.
1. GRE vs GMAT many blogs and threads are written in GMAT club forum. So please do read them.
2. IMO...if you just graduated and looking for PG ..there is no harm to take GRE and apply for B-Schools...in case u didn't make into any B-school you still have the option for applying MS in management through your GRE.
3. If you have a good number of years experience, say mine is >8yrs...and if you have more than >3yrs and aiming for an MBA... Please go to GMAT and not to GRE. Because you will be questioned for sure during your admission process, that why didn't you attempt GMAT. But you can't answer the Truth that GMAT is tough so chosen GRE. Your risk is always there.
4. GMAT is tough for many of us, but trust me.The Corporate World decisions are tougher than GMAT. So do take GMAT as a pre-course training for dealing with Corporate Management level decisions.
5. Aiming for 700+ is good to get into Top tier b-schools, but that's not the only place to survive for MBA.. there are numerous B-schools offering good courses with 600-700 level colleges too. All that matters is how efficiently you deal when a project is given in your hands.
6. Last but not least...do not step back from dreams just because an exam is judging you...there are always a plethora of good paths available to MBA aspirants to reach their goals.
