Solution

Given:
• $$3 * x = 2 * y = 5$$

To find:
• The value of the expression $$24 * x * y^2$$

Approach and Working:
We can rewrite the given expression as following:
• $$24 * x * y^2 = 3x * 4y^2 * 2 = 3x * (2y)^2 * 2 = 5 * (5)^2 * 2 = 5 * 25 * 2 = 250$$

Hence, the correct answer is option A.

NOTE:

3x = 2y = 5.

Given ,

$$24 (x) (y)^2$$

= 3 * 2 * 2 * 2 *x * y * y.

= 3x * 2y * 2y * 2

= 5 * 5 * 5 * 2

= 125 * 2

= 250.

24*x*(y^2) = 2. 3x. (2y)^2 = 2.5.(5)^2=10.25=250 ..... Ans A

Since 3x = 5, x = 5/3. Similarly, since 2y = 5, y = 5/2.
Therefore,

24x(y^2) = 24(5/3)(5/2)^2 = 40(25/4) = 10(25) = 250
