(E) 33.33

a=1.25c
1.25c*b=cd
d/b=1.25 or say 25% more

It is just a variation of Expense = Price*Amount kind of questions where expense needs to be kept the same.

If a = (5/4)c, d must be (5/4)b too.

(5/4)c * b = c * d
d = (5/4)*b

Hence d is 25% more than b.

We can create the equation:

1.25c x b = c x d

1.25b = d

Thus, d is 25% greater than b.

Plug in and solve

ab = cd : : 5*8 = 4*10 (where a is 125% of c)

So, d greater than b by \(\frac{(10 - 8 )}{8}*100\) = 25%, Answer must be (C)
