If cement, gravel, and sand are to be mixed in the ratio 3:5:7 respectively, and 5 tons of cement are available, how many tons of the mixture can be made?

25 tinnes ..
cement = 3x
gravel = 5x
sand = 7x
now 3x = 5
=> x = 5/3
therefore
mixture = 5 + 5*5/3 + 7*5/3 = 25

Nothing if we don't have enough gravel and sand
But indeed weight of the mixture could be 5/3*(3+5+7)=25 tons

25 C:G:S 3 :5:7 if C=5 G=25/3 and S=35/3 sum =25

an easier way

7 +3 +5=15

15/3=5

for every ton of cement we get 5 tons of total mixture (assuming enough of the other stuff)

5*5=25 tons
