If x is 2 greater than the reciprocal of y+2, then what the value of y in terms of x?

A) \(\frac{5+2x}{2-x}\)

B) \(\frac{5+2x}{x-2}\)

C) \(\frac{5-2x}{x-2}\)

D) \(\frac{5-2x}{2+x}\)

E) \(\frac{5x+2}{2-x}\)

translating question into math:

x = 2 + 1/(y+2)............. x-2= 1/(y+2)

(y+2) (x-2)= 1

Let x =3 & y=-1

Apply x in each answer choice to get y=-1:

A) \(\frac{5+2x}{2-x}\)=\(\frac{11}{-1}\)...............Eliminate

B) \(\frac{5+2x}{x-2}\)=\(\frac{11}{1}\)................Eliminate

C) \(\frac{5-2x}{x-2}\)=\(\frac{-1}{1}\)....................Keep

D) \(\frac{5-2x}{2+x}\)=\(\frac{-1}{5}\)...............Eliminate

E) \(\frac{5x+2}{2-x}\)=\(\frac{17}{-1}\)...............Eliminate

Answer: C
