on splitting the number inside the square into perfect square we get 4y out of square and 3y inside the root

\(\sqrt{48y^3}\)

=\(\sqrt{16*3*y^2*y}\)

=4y \(\sqrt{3y}\)

A is the correct answer.

Instead of solving this equation a quick look at the answer choices will give you the answer.

The first choice \(4y\sqrt{3y}\)
\(4y\) when squared will give \(16y^2\) and multiply that with \(3y\) and you will get \(48y^3\)

Hence answer is A.
