In how many ways can 4 rings be arranged in 5 finger (no finger has more than 1 ring)?

A. 5C4
B. 5P4
C. (5C4)4!
D. B and C
E. Something else ( a non traditional GMAT option)

This is a self made question to understand the concept. Please excuse if the question is incorrect. I understand that this is probably sub 200 level question. Let me know your thoughts on my approach(in spoilers)

My approach:

No. of ways of selecting 4 fingers from 5(considering a non-mutant) = 5C4.
No. of ways of arranging the 4 rings= 4!
Answer: 5C4.4!

first ring can be worn in 5 ways, 2nd ring can be worn in 4 ways as no finger can have more than one ring. (if any finger could have more than 1 ring, then the 2nd ring would have been worn in 6 ways)
in the same line of reasoning, the answer is

5 * 4 * 3 * 2

which is equivalent to answer choice D

thanks
