Hello all b school experts, especially who is in close association with pgpm programme of sp jain
I need to talk about the college its alumni , undoubtedly the school is on of the top notch in India but I am afraid
That this is due to its flagship 2 year programme , very few literature have been said about the 1 year programme
Knowing the fact that one would do MBA only once and specially for applicant with 5 years of experience it is a big gamble, as 1 year programme in India isnot that popular except isb.
Due date to apply for January 2017 is July 31.
Though I am interested, I have my doubts, however I
Will apply to keep my avenues open.
Some year MBA is primarily for substantial change in role/function/geography and to gain traction in career, does this school tick all these crucial boxes.
For person from India it is a big decision as everything rely on this life changing decision.
Although MBA is not about monetary gains but still it remains one of the few crucial deciding factors.
Experts, adcom, alumni, current students please speak up .
Knowledge is everything share if you care, about the school pedagogy, learning methods, faculty, students profile, placement profiles, geography, compensation offered, international immersion and international roles, share as much you can.

Geography change- SP Jain does not place internationally through its 1 year (PGPM) program. This is due to to issues mainly focused around Visa.
Role/ function change- This happens in the form of career acceleration or role change within domain or domain change (eg. Marketing in Automobiles to Marketing in E-commerce etc. Or Consulting to Industry or vice versa. Or Marketing in one domain to marketing in another domain). So role and function change happens frequently enough.
Career acceleration/ career traction - Integral part of program.
Knowledge building - The program is very strong in this area. The faculty are common across all programs (and for some courses professors are from other reputed institutes - Including IIMs and foreign universities). The program is not very good at marketing itself and hence, these strong differentiators are not know about the program.
Outgoing compensation depends upon a lot of factors, including incoming salaries. However, outgoing salaries can be checked in detail on the program section of SPJIMRs website:
https://www.spjimr.org/pgpm/placements. Please note that this is for the previous batch and salaries can vary a lot depending upon the experience level (which is higher for current batch). Also, note that the average salary is a figure is an average, ie, nobody gets this amount, people will always get higher and lower salaries, but never exact.
International immersion is at some of the leading business schools (depends upon specialisation - in fact even at this moment the marketing cohort is at Cornell University - Johnson for its immersion program).
Another big plus is the small batch size. The immense benefit of this the close interaction of the batch among itself (in addition to the faculty and program administration knowing each student individually).
I hope that this addresses some of your concerns.
