IMO A.

L + T = 278
L - 8 = 2T
Therefore, 2T + T = 270
T = 90

Hence, L initially had = 2T + 8 = 180 + 8 = 188.

L spend 8 so total 270
L=2T
3T=270
T=90
L=180+8
188
