1) The total number of cars sold by John for 4 months is 12.

2) The same number of cars has been sold every month for 4 months.


The official response is D, but I cannot see why condition 2 is sufficient. I would pick A.

I would agree with you, statement 2 cannot be sufficient alone...
It just means that whatever has been sold each month is the median-- it could be 3 or 4 or 100...

Also' at least 4 months' in main statement makes the Q ambiguous and does not require at least..
It should be just '4 months'

This looks to me a very ambitious question.
When the question says median number of cars sold monthly it doesn't specify the duration.
Although it looks to me the question is trying too hard say 4 months. But again its not clear.

I doubt we would see such language being used on the Actual Gmat.
