Hi
cipherzilchYou have mentioned that you are well aware of steps/techniques to solve a question but not able to apply/understand what the question is asking. This implies, you have knowledge but lack concept/application. Also, you are not clear about the concepts when to apply permutation/ combination and similarly for other question types.
My suggestion to you would be as follows:-
(a) Firstly, since you have already solved a lot of questions first identify the topics in which you are applying wrong logic/confused.
(b) than, pick one topic at a time (say permutation) and solve few questions of Permutations and then solve few questions of Combinations and try and identify the difference between them. list out the differences.
(c) Secondly, knowing formula's and steps is one thing but actually understanding the concept is what GMAT is checking. For ex- the GMAT club math book brings out how to understand the concept of the formula: distance=speed x time. Pg 37.
Go through it and try and develop Concepts in a similar way in other topics which are formula based.
(d) Thirdly, topics like Geometry and Polygons are more of formula, properties and imagining the figures. the more you practice the more you will get comfortable in them.
(e) Lastly, try and solve question of below 600 difficulty and move to medium and high difficulty only when you get comfortable with easy questions.
For any queries PM me.
Best of Luck.
