Hi everyone -
Took the GMAT today...
after 3 months of prep, i managed to score 630 !!...
AWA was quite simple...prepared well for all the topics and landed up with familiar ones..it was a breeze...
Quant:
Q started off well with the first 5 questions of moderate difficulty..then the GMAT guns fired me with hard and crazy DSs. after finishing the test, it seemed all questions were crazy and above difficulty level..had lot of Arithmetic mean median stuff and prob questions..but overall i thought i had managed well.
Verbal:
Verbal was as crazy as ever. The ones in the
OG seemed to be no way comparable. SC questions were typically long and convoluted. RC was a bit ok..CR was tricky..I went by my instints and i could manage to narrow down to 2 choices. But here lay the catch. the 2 choices were very close and i think it paid off towards my bad score. got one boldface towards the end. Overall my time management was bad and i was very circumspect about the first 10 q's.
Then when I pressed the magic button the scores showed it all...
I did not study the
OG well esp the Quant sections. I had manage to complete the SC and the CR sections of
OG. Would
OG have had any influence on my score in any way??
My Prep scores are as follows
Kaplan 1 - 550
Kaplan 2 - 590
PP1 - 650
PP2 - 720
Princeton 1 - 640
Princeton 2 - 740
Princeton 3 - 670
Am an engineering graduate with 3+ years of work experience in a top 5 IT consulting firm. i have a couple of international research papers during my undergrad.
Guys, though my score is average- would I be eligible to get an admit in any one of the Top 10 schools thru a cracking essay and a couple of recos??..should i take the test again?? Please help me out from this quagmire..Need a lot of advice!! Paul, Pret and others - RESCUE!!!
