If you’re looking for amount of improvement, the average is about 100 and so points. Putting in concerted effort with consistent focus is about 150 points. Changing your study habits and improving things beyond just studying, meaning going way beyond the basics and the norm of the GMAT, you can improve by 200 points . Improving 250 or more points require a substantial transformation and effort that 0.01% can put in. This of course assumes your initial diagnostic score is realistic and you weren’t just clicking through.

For verbal, there are two main approaches to studying, one is using some kind of a study guide or a course and covering the material that way and then doing targeting practice. The other way is taking it through questions and making mistakes and then researching why you made a mistake. I’ve seen both ways used. I would say that attempting to improve by doing questions, tends to be longer and more frustrating but it works for some

Yes. Definitely the best book set on the market. Great value. Personally, I liked the previous edition a bit more (this edition moved many of the advanced topics into the online portion of the product - into an online learning area). Oh I preferred to have all of it in the books. Anyway, you can get the 6th edition and score an awesome deal (though without test access)

I took the test without any preparation before. So working through the OG and Manhatten prep could make me improve about my score about 150?

and I also liked having separate books for each of the sub topics as opposed to have a single big quant in a single big verbal book.

and you can definitely improve by 150 points with Manhattan materials. But it is going to be very serious prep and effort unless you are at 400 and need to get to 550. That’s easier at those levels.

Think about it this way, official guide is just a collection of questions. It provides absolutely zero guidelines or strategies about how to solve any single question. It does have explanations and correct answers but it has no strategies, or any helpful learning material. Manhattan GMAT, on the other hand is what tells you the strategies and what teaches you know what you need to answer questions correctly.

Just on Amazon is probably easiest and cheapest.

I achieved 520 today. My Target- Score is about 680. I think i can improve in Quant much more than in verbal..
I have from now on 3 months time for prep. Do you have any tips on verbal improvement vor non natives?

A lot… 😬 320 is 5th percentile… and you are trying to go to 88th. That’s a long road… be at the bottom and to get to the top.

Search for my post on gmat fiction. I seriously recommend reading fiction books. It worked great for me.
