I haven't heard back but a lot of my stuff is activated already. My email and access to core group stuff is available. Does that mean it went through?

I would say yes. You can check that they got it for sure on the status page though (same link as checking for admission).

Ugh, how many people are they admitting again? Also, has anyone been rewarded with the application fee refund?

My guess is that they check your current employer and the one prior to that. IIRC, they have your info already populated with the company/title and you have to provide dates of employment and your main office number. I was a little confused b/c mine was populated with the same company info twice, but duh...my last two jobs were at the same place

I think I read in a previous semester's thread that NYU will inform you that the check is complete via the status check site, not through an email or anything. I can still register and pay even though it hasn't been confirmed yet.

EDIT: Tracked down the post I read, apparently you do get an email after the check is complete: https://gmatclub.com/forum/post406596.html#p406596

I believe the standard procedure is THREE employers + schooling.

I can access the core group info too but I dont think that has to do anything with the kroll background check. I thought they activated core groups along with the online payment thing last week.

Anybody registered for courses yet? any info on the 4 core courses offered this semster? I got admitted for the weeknights and am still deciding if I should go with two courses or just take one and be on the safer side.

I'm pretty sure the Kroll has nothing to do with access to email, etc. My kroll wasn't done as of last week and I've had access to email for weeks.

Re: NYU Langone Fall 2008 [#permalink]
I feel really stressful for this game.

Well, plus also the working pressure, but I know I have to hold onto it.

Still did not get any feedback/decision from ad com yet

My bio:
GMAT: 760
International
WE: F500 4 years
Good extra in school and also in community
Moderate GPA 3.1 in under from top school outside U.S.
Two MSs in US from reputable school with GPA over 3.5
Currently in financial risk field for about a year, before was engineer and data analyst
Not in NYC area, but willing to relocate soon

June 24th, got contacted by ad com for missing one transcript from a school, then I used 2nd day delivery services to assure the transcript arrive at 26th. And also got questioned for my future relocation plan. I just honestly told the truth that I want to finish my current project and then move, plus the econ situation does not look good either.

After that .......... no news .... any more..........

Getting into NYU is my dream and my passion has never been faded. But I have to admit waiting is really painful. And I almost will let some other opportunity pass away. Seriously, if I could know my results earlier, it could put me into a better position in my previous interview.

Hope the other people who are also waiting will feel better. I will hold onto it, how about you?

Re: NYU Langone Fall 2008 [#permalink]
I wanted to introduce myself, I have been following since the beginning of the thread and would throw my profile out there.

Since submitting prior to the May 15th deadline, I have heard nothing from NYU except for my status check password.

I guess I am starting to get a little bit worried and second guessing that I don't have a good chance as now there is about 3 weeks left till the August 1st deadline. I feel I may be a little bit light on the work experience but hopefully my quick progression up the ladder makes up for that.

GMAT: 680 (41V, 42Q) AWA 5.5
GPA: Undergrad GPA: 3.65 (BE in Comp Eng) Grad GPA: 3.9 (ME in Electrical Eng)
Work Exp: 3 yrs of WE in Defense Industry, started out as a design engineer, currently deputy engineering manager.
Extra-curricular: Not much after college, I do provide mentoring to local high school students through work.
Nationality: Indian
Age: 25
Gender: Male

202 number suggests that we are getting close to admitting 40-50% of the total students.

I think we'll start to see more dings, although we don't have much historical information for the dings..
