Since all the numbers are positive, we can square them (to remove the square root), and the one with the largest square is the one that has the greatest value. The following are the squares of the numbers.

A. 9 x 2 = 18

B. 4 x 3 = 12

C. 16 x 3 / 25 = 48/25 < 2

D. 25 x 2 / 16 = 50/16 < 4

E. 49/3 < 17

We see that 3√2 is the greatest since its square is the greatest.

By considering options, we'll understand that options B,C,andD must not be the answer.
As √2=~1.4 so,3×1.4=~4.2
And √3=~1.7 so, 7/3×1.7=~4.1
Hence option A

We can square all the options

Since we have to find the greatest

A. 9 x 2 = 18 ( ✔ )

B. 4 x 3 = 12 ( X )

C. 16 x 3 / 25 = 48/25 ( X )

D. 25 x 2 / 16 = 50/16 ( X )

E. 49/3 ( X )
