Gave my GMAT today and scored an abysmal 620 (Q 39 V 35)
I was expecting something in the range of 660-690. So when the score of 620 popped up on the screen,it was bit of a rude surprise.
What aggravates me more is the fact that I will not be able to apply for fall 2012 programs.
My scoring debacle made its presence clear from my third
MGMAT test. I scored a 550 (Q 34 V 36) on my very first GMAT prep test without any studies.
Here are the results of my
MGMAT tests
MGMAT 1 650 ( Q 44 V35)
MGMAT 2 670 ( Q 46 V 35)
MGMAT 3 550 ( Q 33 V 32)
MGMAT 4 640
I have no clue why this started happening but from my third
MGMAT test onwards, no matter how much I studied, my quant score continued to slide down.Verbal score has stuck around the same 35 region without any change even with a 3 month preparation time.
BTW I have gone through all the
MGMAT math guides more than twice and solved all the
OG 12 Quant questions twice till now.
I think my biggest problem with Quant is although I understand the concepts fine, I completely screw it up when I need to apply those to a problem.
Either way, I am going to take a small break from GMAT try hard and find out what is screwing up my quant score, re-evaluate my strategies and hopefully get a better score and apply in 2012.
Any help in re-evaluating my strategies/tips/tricks/prayer and sacrifice ideas for the GMAT devil are highly welcome.
