Cornell (Johnson) 2012 - Calling All Applicants

I got invited to this too. Did they say a packet of info was going to be sent to us that had more detail on this? I wanted to look at flights and didn't know if the event extended into Sunday or if I could book a flight back home for Sunday morning. I also wasn't sure if everyone invited was going to get some form of scholarship or not. It'd be nice if everyone did but since this is a new thing I think for this year it's hard to say if that's the case. I also don't know if they would ask people to make arrangements to visit campus just for the possibility of getting a scholarship because I would think they would know by now who would get one. Either way I don't necessarily mind going there again even if I don't get a scholarship.

OMG~~~Just received the call - roughly 5:30pm - congratulating me. I feel like flying now. Hopefully this sets of a wave of good news to come!!!!! WOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!! Best of luck to all those waiting for the call out there!

Any thoughts on when should the adcom start sending interview invites for R2 applicants?

Thanks everyone! I received a call around 5:30 CST...I was getting ready to leave work today and got a call from a private number, which I almost didn't pick up cause I normally don't answer unknown calls at work. But I was leaving. And boy, I was definitely surprised!!!

I applied to the regular 2-year FT MBA program - Round 1. Interviewed a little over a week ago, on campus.

Again, best of luck to everyone else. I agree that the wait isn't the best part. But somehow this still hasn't sunk in with me yet...LOL.

Is it just me or are most of the admits so far the ones who interviewed within the last couple of weeks? Do they have a LIFO admit calling process?

Maybe they just didn't like any of us that interviewed early ;-P

i was gonna ask was there ANYONE who submitted an app who didnt submit a park application as well?!

One of the admits said they interviewed in October.

I was watching for a pattern, but it seems completely random.

I have to agree that it was completely random, because I have not prepared my mind for any decision notification this week. I tried to not read anything about early notification (up to 2 days before the specified date) and so I was going to start thinking about it all next week. This call totally caught me off guard - I mean TOTALLY.

Cool. I actually think a random process is better.

A random process matches up the best with the rest of the process as well. There was really no rhyme or reason behind the timing of application review or interview invite either. It seems to make sense that the selection process / admit calls would be just as random.

It would be nice if I actually found comfort in my own reasoning though! lol.
