Where did you find the community directory with information on admitted students? I only have 4 communities available (Course Search, Faculty Directory, Full-Time MBA, Welcome) and don't find anything when I search for "Student" or "Admitted".

Thanks.

When you click-on Full-Time MBA, the next screen will show a Community Directory button on the right side of the page. Once you're there, you can search the entire Booth community. However, at this point, results will be limited to "incoming students" until you officially enroll.

I just got it today too - I'm impressed, because I live on the other side of the world and it got here quick. Great stuff. I'd like to make it to Admitted Students Weekend.

That's awesome! Can't wait to tear open the package myself. I live in town and still haven't received the package. I'm chalking it up to the fact that my building has been known to be slow at processing packages (esp. this time a year).

Has anyone got access to the Class of 2014 Facebook group? It says on the admitted student's website that there is a private FB group for new admits.

If I remember correctly, you need to add Emily Salans as a friend and then she'll invite you to join the group.

Yup, I sent her a friend request on Friday, but am still waiting to be added to the group. Just wondering if it took everybody a few days to get added. No big deal though, I guess I'll send her an email to find out.

I got an e-mail from an alum today who wanted to setup a time to speak with me over the phone to tell me about his experience at Booth. I looked him up and it's obvious that they set me up with someone with similar post-mba goals.

Very cool!

Did you guys already create your email addresses? I logged in to the Portal and I guess it automatically had a Booth4Life email for me. If I can change it, though, I will... I haven't done too much searching but I've seen there's one admit working in the same city as me. Haven't checked for fellow undergrad alumni or hometown folks.

Hey, I just figured out how to do this. You can't change your username, but you can change your e-mail address to whatever you want.

There's probably a more straightforward way to do this, but try this:

- Log into the portal (https://boothportal.chicagobooth.edu)
- In the search box (upper right corner), search for 'Manage Account'
- One of the results should be 'Manage Your Account, Manage Email Alias and Cnet IDs (Properties)'...click that
- Click 'Create your E-mail Alias'
- Make sure that the new e-mail alias that you want to use is selected as preferred
- Click Save

You'll still use the username they assigned you to log into your e-mail account (or to set it up on outlook/macmail/etc.), but any mail that you send/receive from now on will be from your preferred alias.

Still did not get the acceptance package...
Did you receive the package through FedEx?
Maybe I should ask adcom members about delivery status?

Do we know what the deal is with the background check?

I mean does it happen after we submit the deposit, or is it going on right now?

Not that I lied or anything, but you know you can never be too sure about crap not happening.

I have been admitted to both and I think I am going to split the admit weekend. However, I am not quite sure which day I am going to attend at which school. Booth's website doesn't seem to have specifics regarding the visits, but I would guess Friday will be class visits and Saturday will be more about housing, financial aid, and such. Anyone else have any more information?
