Did anyone hear yesterday regarding any fellowship or merit-based scholarships?

Looks like one more person has reported receiving a scholarship on the applicant tracker. That's a total of 4 out of 68 admitted + admitted and matriculating or ~6%. There could be room for a few more over the next couple days but the odds are getting slim for people with a deposit deadline next week.

Additionally, one of their new fellowship programs gives amounts in the $5k range (first year award only), so the amounts aren't necessarily going to be high enough to make anyone change their mind one way or another.

During the Connect / Challenge weekend, Columbia said that admits would hear about fellowships from admissions before Monday's deposit deadline. As of earlier this week, they were notifying at least some people. I'm not sure over what period these notifications continue (or, if someone decides to go elsewhere, if that fellowship becomes available again later). In addition to its fellowships, they seem to offer a number of need-based scholarships later in the season as well. Hope this helps.

frankly this is getting a little annoying - booth told R1 admits about $$ when admission decisions were released. its like CBS adcom get your act together already. argh.

Agreed it's taking them forever, but that's probably because of the rolling admissions process. I'd bet Booth was able to release $$ figures with admits because they were able to analyze their entire admitted pool prior to the notification date.

Either way, I'm an ED admit, so I can't imagine CBS see's the need to woo me with a substantial sum of $$...

Yea, if I recall what they said about need based scholarships, those figures are released in April? I think they were between 5k-10k with the average student receiving 7k?

Agree, I think it was about that ($4-$10K on the website: https://www4.gsb.columbia.edu/mba/admiss ... ellowships).

That said, fellowships can be more meaningful than that (up to full). I was also among the many Booth vs. Columbia people until Columbia's award notification earlier this week, so agree that it's a very tough call unless you know one way or the other.

This is totally random, but I need to give my job a stop date ASAP. Does anyone know when we have to be in the city/orientation begins? I haven't gotten my official packet yet and I'm getting major pushback on setting a date.

August 19th is the first day of mandatory orientation.

How long does it take to get my UNI generated? My gsb account was made one day after, but I can't do much without the UNI... It says one week, but I was wondering if I can expect it any sooner.

Ksk,

The process took me about one week. They confirmed receipt of my release form within one business day, so overall it's a pretty quick process.
