question for people with multiple scholarship offers who are still in decision making mode. how much/little information are you disclosing about your options to admissions reps?

HAHA, ZERO. I know I want to be on east coast long term so that has made the decision making process easier plus I don't want to go to LA and be tempted any further. I've already established a strong rapport with members of the Johnson community and I'm looking forward to any change of scenery, also, moving around does not bother me much. I truly appreciate all of the input. Also, I'm looking forward to the ski weekend that Tuck puts on (Tuck winter carnival) for all of the northeastern schools, heard it's a blast.

If you are coming from the perspective of leveraging one offer against the other, my opinion is that you shouldn't disclose much information.

initially that was my thought too, but then i thought about it and given the way the draft goes- don't they already know if you were offered the fellowship somewhere else? I'm not looking to leverage offers necessarily, but i would LOVE some extra time to evaluate options.

I was thinking about leveraging a consortium fellowship offer against an offer from a non-consortium school. I do think that if the multiple options are within the consortium then it is probably a losing battle.

Thanks dj! It took me a minute to realize I had to hover over the red boxes to find company names.

Are you going to GBR?

Yes! I'll be at GBR with my wife. I'm assuming you will be there? I noticed you have class of 2015 listed, don't you mean 2014 or are you doing dual degree?

How much do you guys anticipate it will cost to attend OP in the summer? I know consortium admitted students do not have to pay a conference fee, but I am curious as to how much I shouldbudget for hotel stay and everything else. (I have not received any information from the consortium yet).

I'm in a similar boat. If you didn't receive scholarship money upon admission, you have to fill out your FASFA form. From there, it should take a couple weeks for the financial aid dept. to give you your aid package.

I think most everything is covered - as in hotel/most meals. I think we even get a stipend for airfare. Can anyone who went last year chime in in this?

Yeah, I don't know how all this happened exactly, but I'm thinking about buying a bunch of powerball tickets right now. Seriously though, as one of my recommenders said, I might be going to grad school loan-free, but I've got a truckload of pay-it-forward debt. Gotta own it and follow through now!

Ruthie, MAKE SURE you fill out the Scholarship Application. I got a very nice scholly package from Kellogg. The Scholarship app for Kellogg is hard to find so Facebook me if you need me to send you the app.

When i spoke with my admissions rep she said details are in the application packet, but implied that all costs are covered.
