How are you all motivating yourselves at work? I'm struggling right now and I still have 3 more months before I resign. But I'm so ready to quit.

I put a vote in for Kellogg!!! I know this is the CGSM thread but I just love me some Kellogg. Go to DAK and wait to see how your financial aid shapes up. Even if you don't get a full ride Kellogg with some $$ becomes a whole lot more attractive. And the recruiting is bananas. And most importantly, there is a cheese bar in the Allen Center. CHEEEESE!!!!

Given that I want to go into Consulting after B school, I think that Kellogg should be the school for me. Living in Evanston is not cheap, but a lot cheaper than Lower Manhattan. I guess I'll have to wait to hear from Kellogg about the financial aid package.

BTW, your latest post at Poets & Quants got me excited about DAK.

Uuuuuuuuugh! Officially offered that CGSM fellowship from Anderson. I know it's a positive thing but I don't need to be second guessing myself at this point.

Its about the money at this point. My bills won't magically stop coming in the next 3 months if I quit my job today. But I also want to save as much money as possible. I have no greater commitment to work beyond the standard 2 week notice when I'm ready to leave. Although I plan on giving my boss a month notice to make the transition smoother.

I'm with ya. I just received an email from UNC saying I'll find out about non-cgsm fellowship $$ on Friday. Emory already offered me the CGSM fellowship, and I did the UNC avatar just for fun because I'm leaning towards Emory but a Jordan avatar is way cooler, but it's interesting the roller coaster of thoughts/emotions this whole process takes you through. I'm enjoying the ride tho!!

For what it's worth, when I was comparing those two schools I ended up favoring Johnson by a considerable margin. Their leadership program (even without Park $$$) is LEGIT and the student (and faculty) community is fantastic.

Not that Anderson isn't an impressive school with impressive people, just saying I definitely got the "warm and fuzzies" from my Johnson interactions at a much higher clip.

Either way, you're going to have a great experience! Savor these times.. you've earned this choice!

when did they notify you? I emailed last week asking when i could expect admissions decision (I know i don't have the fellowship there since my higher ranked school gave it to me) and got no response. made me raise an eyebrow since every other time i've contacted them i got immediate feedback.

Got an email yesterday about receiving a merit scholarship and then another this morning about being selected as a Forte Fellow for Johnson.

Also, waitlisted at Booth. Tough decision.

They called me last week but i wasn't able to answer, we've been playing phone tag for almost a week. I agree with the Cornell sentiment, albeit I haven't spent anytime at Anderson. Also, turning down a Park Fellowship to attend a school I know nothing about would be silly.

For what's its worth, I think you are in an awesome position. Money no longer dictates where you will go so now you can truly go where you want to go and not have to carry the burden of debt along with you.

(I know you didn't ask, but here's my advice): I think you should take a few days, talk with your GF, and see where you will both be happy for the next 2 years. If its Cali, then take the loss of $3K at Johnson, and head to Cali. If its Johnson, then know that a week or so ago, you made the right choice. Either way, you win!

Good luck with your decision. At the end of the day, you're going to end up exactly where you are supposed to be. :-)

If you aren't too familiar with the program, it may be worth going to A-Days and get a feel for the people and the culture. Anderson people have been by far the nicest and most responsive throughout my evaluation process and that help me make a final decision.....

Plus you don't want to be up in Ithaca with the shoulda-woulda-coulda's after I start sending you semesterly photos of me surfing on the beach and engaging in lively conversations with Steven Spielburg and Magic Johnson at the local vineyard.

(i really don't know if s.cal has vineyards)

I don't want to tease too much... that just starts to get annoying... you really can't go wrong with this one.

2 incredible schools - no 100K+ debit. Where ever your 2 year will be the most fullfilling and which ever place pulls at you soul the strongest. I do think they both need a final and fair comparison. I wish I could have included Cornell as an option, but my wife was not gonna go to ithaca for 2 year because we would HAVE to move again after graduation. She is about to take her 3rd Bar Exam because of me and my moves - for the sancitity of my marriage, I couldn't make her take 2 more.
