AWA scores [#permalink]
In my opinion, the AWA scores are critical in your overall application. you've got to remember that the schools do have a chance to view both the Essays. What this means is that if your essays arent coherent enough, it sure is going to damage your chances of admission. Furthermore, the schools have a great opportunity to relate the school essays with the ones your write in the GMAT. In terms of language, style etc. Therefore, any discrepancy can attract strong criticism, if not an outright rejection.

Great answer, that makes sense, and adds some value to that part of the test (which seems to be so overlooked).

That is a good point- it is looks strange when an applicant's application essays are well crafted prose while the student can barely string two sentences together on the AWA.
