Set a calendar invite, and send it to them, for twodays earlier than the deadline. 2 days beforethis deadline send a reminder. When recommenders receive the email, they are provided infornation on dates and deadlines. So they will in all probability appreciate you having taken a 2 day safety.

Recommenders should submit by deadline. Most school allow a submission by the recommender 1-2 days later also, but some wont, why take a chance?
