Hey guys, for all who have applied in R3 (i.e. deadline 8-Jan), have you gotten any call for interview yet?

I applied for R2. The interviewer was really nice and we had a casual talk on the program and life in London. Pls be patient, I only received the interview invite on the deadline. Good luck!

I even do not know whether my application is accounted in the R3 or R4 as I delivered transcripts after the R3 deadline.

I found the interview itself a good experience. The guy interviewed me is a senior MD in his field so he;s quite senior, which is a good thing becase he looks at bigger picture, i mean he did not ask tiny detailed finance/maths questions, but conducted the interview by asking me the economy/financial world in general. Personally i think this is way better than asking me to solve a financial/maths equation etc...you know what i mean....

I would say you really need to focus on "why MiF" and "why LBS (or and why not other uni" as i spent 1/4 of my time answering these 2 questions....

Hi,

I've been an alumni interviewer for London Business School for the past ten years, and have interviewed candidates for the MBA, MiF, and MiM. I try to bring out the best in the candidates, and ask them questions to assess cultural fit with the school, interest in London Business School, clarity of career goals, and questions regarding their work experience and accomplishments.

If you're applying to the MiF program, you would have had finance work experience. Make sure you come across knowledgeable and confident in explaining your line of work and your expertise.

I know that some MiF interviewers will ask technical questions on valuation, securities market, commodities trading, Black-Scholes forumula, etc. You want to be conversant in finance, and being able to explain how to apply basic principles of finance and their implications for business.

As someone else mentioned, definitely start reading the Economist and other sources of international business news if you haven't already done so.

Just wondering, how many of you get interviewed by alumni in senior position? how about by recent grads ? I'm curious to know whether the two groups in deed have different approaches to interview.

looking to submit for the end of february -- still deciding between the MBA and the MIF though the MIF definitely is more appealing to me in terms of its focus but also MBA is more well known in the states argh. also i took the past year 'off' from finance to come down to brasil and work at a startup doing gourmet food and wine e commerce, do you think the MIF committee may look at that oddly? bingo or any other stealth american applicants have any thoughts on the mba vs mif part?!

didnt they have a function to let you apply for the MIF as your primary application and MBA as secondary or something?

also, mif is quasi rolling admissions or hard deadlines for those specific dates?
