ESADE Business School 2013 - Calling All MBA Applicants

I agree with SKabanov. ESADE is taking steps in the right direction to build its brand identity and give its students the right climate to tap opportunities. It's already ranked 5th in Europe and it's a matter of time before its FT Rankings also improve. I'm okay with being patient and having faith in myself as well as in the program/school that I'm joining.

Facts and figures on the Careers webpage are useful but to paraphrase APPLE TVCs, they should be treated as "General Guidelines". Please don't get me wrong; I'm realistic too. I know that it will still be difficult (very, very difficult) for non-EU students to get a job in Spain or elsewhere in Europe in the coming years. But are WE, MBA applicants looking to build a bright career and hoping to be tomorrow's leaders really going to a B-school just to get a high-paying job? That's it?!

I've gone through the 2007-08 financial crisis myself, came this close to being laid-off, and have failed in starting up my first business venture. From these experiences I can tell life does not come with any guarantees. Even if, hypothetically, ESADE or any other B-School on this planet, were to GUARANTEE placements, I am not convinced that such an arrangement would work out in the long term. I think it's best to believe in ourselves. This makes it a lot easier for everyone else to believe in us!

Sure, there are also those who take on serious amounts of debt or put their family life/conjugal life on hold to do an MBA and therefore ROI matters!! It really does! All the more reason to make sure we go to a school where we really, really want to go and do so only when are 100% sure THIS is the right time to go to a b-school.

These are my thoughts! I'm okay with hearing from folks out there who have a different take on this subject.
