Since I never got an interview invite (also applied in R2), should I presume that I won't be accepted. I haven't gotten a reject letter as well.

Hi - have any R2 applicants heard back with results? I was told it would be this week as well.

Also - does anyone know what the method is? Is it a phone call, email, both?

Is anyone else still waiting to hear? I find it strange that I got neither an admit nor a rejection letter...

Anyone else not heard ANYTHING from Stanford MSx Admissions?

I have emailed, called, even spoken with someone but no response other than they are still working through the applications and will get back to us soon.

I received my reply/rejection today March 4th, but the letter was dated February 5th. I think this is quite unprofessional as I have been keeping other schools waiting.

Hi Guys,

Trust you are doing well

I wanted to reach out to know more about job opportunities at end of the MSx program and how these compare with those of a top 1 year MBA program (Kellog, Columbia,IMD, LBS, Insead etc).

There are some blog posts mentioning recruiting is not a focus in the Msx program, I am not sure what that means? Do the MSx students get similar salaries post completion as the regular Stanford MBA students?

I am a 34 yr Indian male with 10 years experience, of these the first 5 years were in consulting and the last 5 have been as a startup entrepreneur.

Cheers

Dev,

The short answer is that you will have all of the same opportunities as Stanford MBAs (which I assume is as good or better than the other programs you mentioned).

However, most fellows in the Sloan/MSx program do not go after these opportunities as they are more senior and looking for positions a couple of levels above (although there are those few that take associate-level positions to pivot their career into VC or PE). Also, most Sloans will likely not take a job that pays at the MBA level, since their experience should get them into positions that pay significantly more.

An executive search is more complicated than an associate-level search on a number of dimensions. Companies like Google, McKinsey, and Goldman hire 100s of MBAs each year, but when looking to fill a senior role, that search is typically done through an executive recruiter or referral. Therefore, Sloan/MSx fellows need to network to figure out their next role. The career center is great as they facilitate networking events, chats, etc, but even more powerful is the fellows themselves.

You should go with the program that best meets your objectives, but finding MBA-level opportunities is not a issue at all for Sloans, it is just that they want more. You seem to have a good profile (in terms of age/ experience) for the program, but do note that they are also looking for leadership experience and strong academic/test scores.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Re: Stanford MSx (Sloan) admits - Class of 2015 : Stanford GSB [#permalink]
Hi All,

I applied for Stanford MSx this year and got accepted for 2016 class. Now this is a decision time and time to figure out financial options as well. I have a couple of questions. I hope some of you, who are current fellows, might be able to help.

1). Does anyone know what is the approximate breakup of self funded v/s employer sponsored in this program for current or previous years? I looked at class profile on school website but they do not have this detail.
2). Can anyone share if you have been able to take any financial aids apart from standard education loan for this program?
3). I have not been able to find any employment statistics for current or past years. I know this is a program for experienced leaders with diverse background and not all might be looking for a job after the program. But I am sure most of the self-funded students might be looking for a job. Can anyone share details regarding employment statistics or at least the major companies which have been more commonly hiring from Stanford MSx class especially in general management, consulting or technology management area?

Thanks!
