(A) are ill-suited either to human hands and eyes or are so onerous or strenuous
(B) are either ill-suited to human hands and eyes or they are so onerous or strenuous so
(C) either ill-suited to human hands and eyes or are so onerous or strenuous
(D) either are ill-suited to human hands and eyes or so onerous or strenuous so
(E) either are ill-suited to human hands and eyes or are so onerous or strenuous

Hi, I found the sentence odd.
Can anyone explain what "that people do not want to do them." is modifying, please.

The correct option uses idiom "So...that..."
IMO - The structure of correct choice is

Many industrial robots (subject) perform (Verb) tasks

that (Subject: that = tasks)
either are (Verb 1) ill-suited to human hands and eyes or are (verb 2) (so) onerous or strenuous that people do not want to do them.

the sentence is "tasks" either are X or so Y that people do not want to do them.

Hope this helps

The best suitable answer is E for the reason "either are" and "or are" which makes them perfectly parallel

Issues Tested:

1) Parallel: "Either X or Y"
2) Idiom: "So X that Y"

(A) are ill-suited either to human hands and eyes or are so onerous or strenuous - Wrong: Parallelism
(B) are either ill-suited to human hands and eyes or they are so onerous or strenuous so - Wrong: 1) Parallelism 2) Idiom
(C) either ill-suited to human hands and eyes or are so onerous or strenuous - Wrong: 1) Parallelism 2) Verb
(D) either are ill-suited to human hands and eyes or so onerous or strenuous so - Wrong: 1) Parallelism 2) Idiom
(E) either are ill-suited to human hands and eyes or are so onerous or strenuous - Correct
