Been a silent lurker on the forum. Got rejected. I spent quite a lot of time, energy and money preparing my application. Although I am not happy with the result I accept it albeit begrudgingly. However, never to diminish anybody's stature or hard work, I think there is an element of luck involved in this process.
It was an honor to be apart of this journey,I will take Derek's advice and continue my journey elsewhere. Good luck to everybody with an invite.
They receive 8000 applications and interview 800.
Of those 8000, something like ~1500 are actually stanford quality, meaning blue chip job(McKinsey, Google, Goldman Sachs), top GMAT, and top UG GPA from a top school. They probably interview ~50 miscellaneous people (family business, weird story, who knows) and the remaining 750 slots are essentially given at random to those 2,000 qualified.
