I think its E. There is no useful relationship between x and y that can be setup with z.

The answer to the above question is clearly E, not A: y and x are more than some number z, we can not say from this info whether x<y or not.

Combining both;

z=0; x=1; y=2
Z is less than x and y
x<y
OR
z=0; x=2; y=1
Z is less than x and y
x>y
OR
z=0; x=2; y=2
Z is less than x and y
x=y
