Thank you for posting your debrief and congratulations on the great score! :D

I see that you used Powerscore and e-gmat for CR. Which one would you recommend? Are the methods in Powerscore very different from e-gmat?

Thanks much!

YT,
It all depends on what medium do you prefer. Both are good, but as I said earlier, I used Powerscore sparingly. My main source of CR was e-gmat course, live videos and scholaranium.
I found the reinforcement of CR skills by various e-gmat sources very helpful, for example, I watched their Prethinking video multiple times to get the methodology ingrained in my system. The same thing has been taught by PS CR book too. So it all depends which medium do you find convenient.

Thank you for that input! I think you answered my question. I tried e-gmat CR before but didn't do the entire course earlier. I've read so many good reviews of powerscore so I thought probably that book has different methods. If both powerscore and e-gmat have similar methods, I'd prefer e-gmat audio visual course instead of reading an entire book.

Thanks for your help!

Congrats on a great score. :)

Could you please share something more about RC preparations and how you took notes? As you mentioned you went for shorter notes during tests, so what information you considered important for those notes? It would be great if you could give an example using a small paragraph.

No intention to get you back in the GMAT mood:) Its just that RC is my weak area and I spend a lot of time taking down notes. Though I tried to change strategies but nothing worked.

Thanks

Don't take notes because you must take notes. Take them when you think the information you read is getting a bit overwhelming and difficult to remember and its time to write a line or 2 summarizing the information.

Hi abhibad

Need your advise for the preparation. Actually enrolled at princeton review after my friend's advise. But i could not see my verbal improving. Should i go for e-gmat? if you don't mind can i ask you how much you scored while you were at princeton.

Congratulations on the excellent score, abhibad! I am glad you are satisfied with the score, and thank you for sharing your study and test day experiences.

Hi Warraich54,

The original post in this thread is almost 3 years old - and it's been about 1.5 years since the original poster logged into GMATClub - so it's possible that you might not receive the exact information that you're looking for. That shouldn't stop you from putting together an effective Study Plan and timeline though.

Before I can offer you any advice for your studies, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) On what dates did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) What is your overall goal score?
5) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
6) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
7) What Schools are you planning to apply to?
