Howdy,
I just wanted to share my experience with the
Magoosh and GMAT club practice test score accuracy. I've gotten wildly different results depending on the purveyor of the exam.
(For reference, 2 months ago I had scored a 650 on my initial practice test using the official GMAT software.)
Yesterday I took a
Magoosh practice exam and
scored a 570 (after 2 months of studying using the
OG guide,
Magoosh, GMAT Club, and
eGMAT SC resources). I went through my questions and saw that I had gotten up to "Very Hard" after the first 11 questions and got 7 out of 9 of the following very hard questions correct. After that it was a mixed bag (Largely due to spending 5 minutes on 1 questions.)
I then took a GMAT Club Quant and Verbal CAT and scored a 51Q 42V, which resulted in an overall
score of 750. This seems like a rather massive disparity in score between my
Magoosh exam and GMAT club exam. I also finished the verbal section with over 10 minutes remaining.
Has anyone else experienced score swings like this? Is this just a testament to the importance of staying on track with your question timing?
Would appreciate your thoughts on this, happy GMATing all. I'm taking the actual exam on Saturday (Which will be interesting seeing as my study schedule was rather de-railed by Harvey...) so any last minute study advice is also appreciated.
