Hi harsya071,
you might also have a look at HHL, which is similarly positioned as WHU and ESMT (and is also named in the title of this thread).
Please see below my comments on your profile
-Bachelor Degree in Industrial Engineering (i know not basically business/Management ; but i have good amount of Industrial/Warehouse/production/Supply Chain Management classes)
-> could be problematic, as most German Masters are consecutive, requiring at least partial business studies during an undergraduate degree. I think you should contact the universities whether the courses you did are sufficient in this. I could imagine that the private universities are more flexible in this than the public ones.
-GPA 3,1 of 4,00
-> I cannot judge this. For Mannheim I think there is a conversion calculation that they apply for foreign GPAs to result in German grades and then in points for the application process
-TOEFL 583 (PBT, need to take again for updates)
-> WHU requires at least 100 in iBT, PBT is not accepted; Mannheim does not require any English test (only GMAT)
-GMAT (not yet taken, will guess around 600+)
-> WHU and Mannheim have 600 GMAT as minimum
-Work Experiences ;
- Forwarding Logistics around 3 months (Part Time)
- Shipping Line (Taiwanese company) / currently working 1 Year Experience in Marketing Import/Export position
- Co-Owner Restaurant (while study in College, around 1 to 1,5 years)
-->sounds good. restaurant ownership could be interpreted as Entrepreneurship. See that Mannheim does not value internships highly (maximum of 6 points in application process for internships and work experience)
-> What you did not mention is an exchange semester or comparable international experience.
Note that Mannheim places substantial weight on an exchange semester with a pointage of 22 points for an exchange semester. Without an exchange semester it is very difficult to get into the Mannheim program.
Further note that only a part of the total Mannheim master places are available for English-only speakers, as the majority of the program is English-German. I think to remember that ca. 20% of the overall spots were reserved for the English-only program. As there are some courses only available in German, with the English-only program you have a limited choice for courses. However, this might be less severe for you as most German are Accounting/Taxation courses which seem to be of less interest to you either way.
To increase your chances
- get at least 600 in GMAT, higher pointage is advised
- get 100 in iBT for WHU, higher pointage is not of advantage (but doesn't harm either)
- have an exchange semester (for Mannheim) or refer to international experience (for WHU, international experience here is more broadly, could also be an internship abroad or similar)
Thank You eduaudax!
really appreciate your response on my profile
i also want to ask you few things from your explanation;
--->BACHELOR Degree = i will get in touch with related university about courses accepted from my bachelor degree transcript.
also, do you have any recommendation for private University in Germany?
--->Exchange Semester / International Experiences = let's say i target Mannheim, therefore i need exchange semester in outside country, right? but since i already graduated does that mean i cannot go to Mannheim? LOL
for International Experience, i will be able to find that experience to work outside/abroad.
---> GERMAN-ENGLISH literature will not be a problem though, i will take course for Germany language and also study language there
so from your information above, it seems Mannheim have more difficult entry requirement right?
i am also looking right now for review on HHL, since this forum also mentioned HHL
thanks for your information, really helpful too
