HI- I am in Boston, working in finance and been trying to give GMAT exam with no success. Last time I tried I got around 400, need atleast 600+ to get into good school. Any suggestion ? should I take GMAX online course, is it helpful. What material should I review, I do have GMAT books from princenton, gmat and kaplan.
I really appreciate for your help.

Whether you want to take the GMAX course is your personal preference, but we reviewed their course and its on our website. See if it helps you make a decision.

I am rollthedice. I came to know about this site from google but was too late in the game as I was taking my GMAT in few days with little/no prep. My first attempted GMAT score 550 sucks.

I have 11 yrs industry experience and is part of the problem. I lead teams in the onshore/offshore model that I dont get enough time after work (If it ever ends!). But, I am not loosing hope and going to know my weak points better by learning from you guys and sharing what I can in the process and make my scores a whopping : 700+

My name is An, I have tried Gmat test once. The test was not good, so I cancelled the score at that time. After the test I have gone to work in a firm. Now I want to study Gmat to take the test once more. As my dream is to study in a foreign country, to use English everyday,... I am now nearly forget all what I have learnt Gmat from the previous time. I hope this time I will be wiser and have a better way of studying gmat.

I found this site today, a week after I took my GMAT for the first time. As you can imagine, I am here because I didn't score as well as I wanted to .

There is some great info on this site! Looking forward to meeting more of you, and participating in the Forum.

I created a post in GMAT experience (I think --) but I'm not sure that's the correct place to post, so I may have to repost somewhere else... still trying to navigate, and figure out where everything should go.

I am Ajay from Chicago. I have about 4 years of work experience in total and I work currently at AllState Insurance in Chicago.

I plan to take the GMAT in Oct and am targetting a score of 700+.

My school preferences would be University of Chicago or Kellogs.

I am planning to do a Part-Time MBA.

I'm originally from Sweden, but I'm now a current resident in the States (married an American somehow). Got a Swedish M.Sc in Industrial Engineering and Management and did my Master's thesis at Johns Hopkins University. Spent one semester in Sydney, Australia (Study Abroad)

Considering getting an MBA in 2008 (need more work experience first). Got 660 on the GMAT first try (Q42, V40) but going to re-take it. Screwed up the quant part big time.

Live in NC so looking at the schools around here: UNC, Wake Forest and Duke (although my wife would kill me - she's a Carolina grad).

This site has been great thus far. I've been studying for the GMAT for about 2 months now and am taking the exam on June 7th. I live in the Washington DC area. I'm hoping for a 720+ on the exam. Been studying very intensely, as I had my own real estate business but things are pretty slow right now (renovated and resold about 30 properties over the past 2 years). I was a officer in the US Navy for 4 years after college, then had my own biz for a couple of years. Total work experience will be 7 years at the time of entry into an MBA program. A bit older, but hopefully will have decent shot at entry into a top program. I want to get an MBA and use that to move into the commerical real estate arena. In addition to MBA programs, I may also apply to Masters in Real Estate Programs (MIT, Columbia, Cornell, NYU, etc). Goal is to work in RE development or private equity, buying properties and repositioning them for good returns -- and then down the road would like to be doing my own commercial RE deals. My name is Brett and I am from the US. Philadelphia to be exact. Now I'm living in Tokyo, Japan. In the US I worked for as an attorney, but got bored and moved to Japan last year. I'm working for a company that provides various software solutions for law firms. I do a variety of things, but my main role is to manage a group of distributors in Korea.

My ultimate goal is to move into consulting/private equity, hence the reason for an MBA. My target schools are INSEAD and IMD. I'm sure more will come along as I go throught the deliberation process.

I found this site a couple of months ago and it has been very helpful. I started taking the GMAX classes and so far so good. I hoping for a score in the 680 range, but right now the quant is giving me a good beating. Hopefully participation on this site will help and I can help others too. If anyone has any tips to improve your math score, please let me know.

I'm from New Delhi (India), i'm planning to take my GMAT by Nov.-Dec.06.

I got a degree in engineering & MBA (from top engg. & MBA schools), got a work exp. of around 1.5 yrs.

I prepared for GMAT a year back, but things didn't workout, now again i'm all set to tame the beast!!!

My level of prep.- on an average i scored 660 on KAPLAN GMATs, Verbal on GMAT is my area of weakness.

I'm looking 4 somebody with similar level of prep. to catch up with, from Natinal Capital region (New Delhi-INDIA).

I actually joined a while ago but I think I skipped the introductions. I have done the GMAT twice and received a score lower than 500 on both tests. My Quantitative score is shameful at best. I was always a struggler in Math during highschool, and now the numbers and word problems have come to haunt me again. I am determined to overcome my fear of Math and to tackle the Quantitative part of the GMAT.

My mistake in both GMAT exams were hoping I could raise my score with Verbal, but now I have come to terms that I really need to understand everything. My goal is not as high as most of you seem to have set. I will be very happy to receive a 600.

My dream is to study in a University here in my country (Canada), or in Europe (Spain, Italy, France) once I have finally overcome my fear of Quantitative GMAT.

I'm recent college graduate from Florida now living in Chicago, IL working as an underwriter for a large insurance firm. I completed my undergraduate work in economics and plan to pursue an MBA at the University of Illinois or Depaul. To be frank, I don't find the discipline of business or finance to be particularly intriguing; however, I do find it a practical course of study as a means to better secure my future. I suspect my lack of interest in general business won't help me through my studies, but my need to set goals and meet new challenges certainly will.

I found this site by way of a Google search for related information on preparing for the GMAT. It seems like there is a real treasure trove of relevant information here, so I signed up.

I plan to take the GMAT in about 1 year. Here's to planning!

I'm from Moscow, Russia. I have a specialist degree in International Economic Relations (it's above Bachelor's but below Master's) from one of the most well known Russian Universities, which I have finished with a Cum Laude diploma. I have a working experience of six full years of which 3.5 in a major multinationl company.
I'm going to take my first GMAT in a week (after approximately five months of sporadic preparations) and I need >700 cause my aspiration is to be admitted in one of the Top-10 US b-schools )))

I found this club today, when I was ordering more GMAT study guides from Amazon. I just took the GMAT last Friday and I did not do very well (I'll leave it at that). Any who, I was starting to run out of ideas for study tips and even starting to talk myself into my plan "C" school that my score is good enough for, but after reading some of the success stories posted it has given me the hope and motivation to begin the dread process again. I want plan "A" school.
