Unit digit of the given number 61504 is 4, therefore we need to find an answer choice which gives us a unit digit of 4 when squared.

248 * 248 = 61504

Therefore (D).

The square root of 61,504 is

The unit digit 4 is only valid for either 2 or 8.
Since, we don't have any value in the options ending with 2, we don't need to check any other option.
The answer is option (D) 248
