I) \(2,500 - 350\). Clearly, 2500 - 347 is greater than 2500 - 350.

II) \(\frac{1}{350}\) < 1 / 347

III) \(\frac{1}{1+ \frac{1}{350}}\) = 350 / 351

350 / 351 > 347 / 351.

Thus C is the correct answer .

Let's see how the equations behave if we use 4 & 2 in place of 350 and 347

1. 2500 - 4 = 2496
2500 - 2 = 2498 (Value increases)

2. \(\frac{1}{4}\) = 0.25
\(\frac{1}{2}\) = 0.5 (Value increases)

3. \(\frac{1}{(1+1/4)} = \frac{1}{(1+0.25)} = \frac{1}{1.25}\)
\(\frac{1}{(1+1/2)} = \frac{1}{(1+0.5)} = \frac{1}{1.5}\) (Value decreases)

Therefore, only III gives us the desired result

Answer is (C)

I and 2 value increases and there is no none option. So Option C III only

value would increase with replacement of 347 in 1 & 2 whereas for option 3 ; the value will be less

Imo C

1) 2500-350 .... < 2500-347 ( smaller number being subtracted will result in greater value)
2) 1/350 ....< 1/347 ( lower deomminator
3) Comparing 350/351 and 347/348
cross multiplying ...350 * 348 and 351* 347
-> 350*348 and (350+1) 347
-> 350* 347 + 350 and (350*347) + 347
-> 350* 347 + 350 > (350*347) + 347

Subtracting 347 from 2,500 will be larger than subtracting 350 from 2,500, so I is not true.

Since the denominator will be smaller when 350 is replaced by 347 in II, the value of the resulting fraction will be larger, so II is not true.

As for III, we’ve mentioned that 1/347 is larger than 1/350, so 1 + 1/347 is larger than 1 + 1/350. Since the larger the denominator the smaller the fraction (when the numerator is kept the same), 1/(1 + 1/347) is smaller than 1/(1 + 1/350). So III is true.

Answer: C
