Thank you for the useful post!

If I follow the mentioned offline study plan, when should I take the OG Quantitive Questions in Month 1?

Hi.. Here I cannot find a link
Where is the link for IC resource?

For IR, there is always the big question of, how important is IR really, and the answer, clearly, is – nobody knows. We expect that it will be more definite in 2015/2016 years when the first IR test-takers have graduated and GMAC can trace patterns. Meanwhile, go here for IR resources and practice.

Hi, I am looking for a GMAT guided course that starts asap. I am looking into Varsity tutors 5 week course, it's more affordable than the one on one classes. Does anyone know if this is a good course?

Hey Aspirants,

Of the many emails that we receive every day, the most common question we get asked is one or the other version of “Give me a study plan to achieve 700+ GMAT score”. Another version of the same question is – how can I reach a score of 700 on the GMAT? At e-GMAT, we do not believe in general/standard plans for everyone. Why? Because every student possesses a different skill set and hence requires a customized path to get to their target score. Therefore, to cater to these (specific) needs, we need personalized study plans (rather than a generic one).

In this post, we have included GMAT Study Plan for 3 case scenarios – 150 points score improvement, 200 points score improvement and 250 points score improvement.

We have covered the following aspects:

Benefits of a Personalized GMAT Study Plan
How to create a personalized GMAT study plan?
GMAT Study Plan for 250 Points Score Improvement – 400 to 650
Personalized Study Plan for 200 Points Score Improvement – 500 to 700
How to score GMAT 750 – Personalised GMAT Study Plan (Starting Score 600)

Hi Dhruv16,

A 500 is a solid initial CAT score (the average score on the Official GMAT hovers around 550 most years). Rather than continue this conversation in this crowded thread, I've sent you a PM with some notes and additional questions.

Hi, I'm completely new to the GMAT, and recently went through the official website to understand the exam. I just took my first GMAT official practice exam as recommended in this guide and these were my results:

Integrated Reasoning - 4 (31st percentile)
Verbal - 31 (60th percentile)
Quantitative - 44 (47th percentile)
Total - 620 (61st percentile)

I understand this is a poor score, but I want to improve.
I also wrote the essay despite the recommendation to skip it, because I like writing essays and have never had the opportunity to before (and to get a closer to the actual exam-feel).

I like to self-study, but the amount of resources listed here are a bit overwhelming, and would be way too expensive for me (I also don't live in the US, so getting my hands on some of the resources will be difficult for me). Could someone please recommend a set of books (ebooks preferably) or any one online resource I can stick to get the most out of my preparation? I like the idea of just getting all the OG books + advanced questions books by GMAC. But I'm not sure if that would be sufficient. My score goal is 760+, or 98-99 percentile (probably very difficult from 620). I haven't decided on the exam date.
