That’s pretty good, mate. Best of luck. Do fill up the form for FMS as well.

I’m not inclined towards FMS ... ISB is a much better bet for next year than FMS now.. if not ABC this yr

How much did you score in cat?

91 slot 2... Then scaling happens as well.. hoping for the predicted results as 3-4 institutes have given similar predictions

Hey guys. A bit late to the party. I got an R1 admit, and am curious about a few things. Mainly, how are placements at ISB for people with <3 years of workex? Is it close to the average pay package advertised by them? Thanks in advance for all insights.

Hey! Firstly congratulations for the admit and all the best for your ISB journey. So the pay package is also largely a function of which industry/function you would want to join. Eg - If you are targeting consulting, then you having <3 years of work ex is an advantage, will come with a good pay package, and won’t be different from someone getting into the same firm but having let’s say 5 years of work ex.

SarthakVerma, Thanks for this insight, what about people with more than 6 years of ex. in IT ? is it not a good choice to join ISB in this case ?

Hey, ISB is one of the best b-schools to join in the country (irrespective of your work-ex and context). I feel it’s more about what you want to achieve from the school. For Consulting/Product Management aspirants, it’s one of the best places in terms of placement coverage. That being said, I have seen batchmates/juniors/seniors making a shift to their target roles (Finance/VC) through lateral hiring post their ISB MBA too.

Thanks for the info! Would you have any clue as to the possibility of making a switch into finance? I have a B.Tech (mechanical) degree, but have finished the CFA L1. Currently upskilling with a few other finance courses. My preferred field is IB, although I am open to other fields like corporate finance too.

Hey, so ISB is not known to be a finance-centric school predominantly. Essentially because investment banks (think Goldman Sachs/JP Morgan) rely on the traditional internship model when recruiting from B-schools where they eventually give PPOs to the summer interns. Hence, you will see these companies being in the recruiters list for IIMs (2-year program). I am not saying that people can’t get IB/core finance roles post ISB, it’s just that these roles don’t come in plenty, on campus.

Question to all the R3 aspirants
How are you all planning to serve your notice period if you get through R3 (ISB’s website says that the results will be announced in March 2023 and the session starts in April)?
