We could but I hardly believe that something is changed in comparison to the old version.

The new focus edition just put off SC and moved the Ds questions under the DI section.

In other words, now, the quantitative section has DS questions AND the integrated reasoning questions separately. The so much anticipated fusion between the IR and DS questions does not exist. Think about a possible scenario in which you do have IR questions in the form of DS. A mash-up. No, does not exist.

The verbal section has ONLy RC and CR questions as we know ever.

What we should see if, in the quant section, the IR/DS questions are positioned. How they unfold. For example: all ds questions and then the IR questions and then PS or mixed up.............As I think, though.

Across four books, there is only one new question. :/ Thank you, carcass, for your analysis, which has saved us from spending extra money on what is essentially a rehash of previous OGs.

The analysis provided is not meant to be a discouragement or to refrain people to buy the new books.

I, for example, bought as soon as they were available regardless. Since ever.

The books are always necessary for those who want to stay updated. The meaning of the table above is just to make a comparison.

In no way we suggest buying or not the books. It is just a personal preference based also on your financial outlook!!

Agreed. Since I already own used 2021 OGs this analysis helped to narrow down the decision whether I need to buy the new books or not.

Hello, is it possible for you that already went trough all the questions to make some sort of reference table from the 2022 OGs to the 2023-24 OGs?
I have the 2022 OGs (the three of them) but right now i dont know which questions are included in the 2023-24 version and which arent.
And i would like to do ONLY the 2023-24 questions, but referencing them in the 2022 OGs.

I hope I made myself clear.

I was not aware of those changes. I am honest but I think there is some good reason on why the table above is so at the moment.

If you need to find a question a possible trick is the following: go here to the OG 2022 https://gmatclub.com/forum/the-official ... 56035.html because the 2024 and the 2022 version are the same, in the 2022 use the ID of the question, insert it in the search lens on top of the forum and you will find the relative question.

This is the only way I do know.

Many Thanks

There are no new questions in the official guide 2024 compared to the 2022 edition.

For anyone looking for the latest and greatest, I’m going to give you some really dark scary truth - During the years when GMAC updates their questions in the book, they update about 15% of the book. This means 15% of the total questions are new and 85% are questions from the previous addition.

2024 OG focus official guide is 100% copy of the 2022 official guide, minus the sentence correction and geometry (so it actually contains fewer questions).

The 2022 official guide contained 15% new
Questions compared to 2021 edition.

The 2021 edition was an exact copy of the 2020 edition.

2020 edition had 15% new questions

And so on.

The 2024 edition contains about 30% of new questions since 2019 and 70% are from pre-2019.

Moreover, the new questions added to the official guide are questions retired from previous exams. Based on anecdotal feedback and other evidence, many of these questions were written 10-20 years ago, so even the latest questions in the official guide the 15% of them, are from pre- 2010 exams.

Live with this 🤣

PS. How can you make this information useful? You should realize that the questions you see in the official guide are amazing and fantastic but they will not be the exact questions you will see on your test at the test center. Moreover these amazing and fantastic official questions do not have an expiration date. Doesn’t matter affect, nobody knows when these questions were written exactly. Instead of trying to chase new questions which would have a known creation dates, it’s better to invest into knowledge and material on how to handle any question, whether new or old. Don’t get fixated on the vintage of the questions, Instead focus on the material. If you know the background of math and have a strategy for critical reasoning and reading comprehension, you will be able to tackle any question from any edition of the official guide .

Hey .. thanks for the reply .. I was confused because if you compare the number of questions especially in DS section... you see that OG 2022 seems to have 258 in DS whereas OG 23/24 (according to the table above) has 104 questions only.. so it seems like more than 100 questions are removed .. which makes me wonder which are those? so I can skip them ..

in RC I can see OG 2022 has 149 questions while OG 23/24 has 157 questions. Yet, we confirm that there are no added questions ..
Hence .. I wrote to seek clarity about this ..
