I realized that
11 NEW "logic-based" DS questions (Criteria, Comparisons, Graphs/Tables, Verbal Reasoning, etc.) were added to the
OG 2024 online question bank, sometime between June and October. You can access them among the 43 "hard" questions.
I've also seen a lot of questions about the differences between the OG 2022 and the OG 2023-2024, so here's my analysis:
Most of the questions between OG 2022 and Focus Edition OG 2023-2024 are the same.
The biggest important difference is about half of the Data Sufficiency (DS) questions were removed from OG 2022; Focus Edition focuses on word problems, not "pure math" / algebra.
It's easier to avoid Geometry if you're using the OG 2022; on the Wiley.com question bank, you can just unselect those questions.
Attached is a detailed analysis I did on the DS, based on the topic categorization on GMAT Club.
76 additional IR questions (called "Integrated Reasoning" on the classic edition) were added to OG 2024, plus 131 in the Data Insights Guide:
OG 2024 has 150 IR questions:
• 43 Multi-Source Reasoning
• 29 Table Analysis
• 34 Graphics Interpretation
• 44 Two-Part Analysis
In contrast, OG 2022 has 74 IR questions:
• 23 Multi-Source Reasoning
• 17 Table Analysis
• 15 Graphics Interpretation
• 19 Two-Part Analysis
Additionally, the Data Insights Guide for 2024 has 131 IR questions:
• 23 Multi Source Reasoning
• 50 Two-Part Analysis
• 30 Graphics Interpretation
• 28 Table Analysis
An additional difference is you have more control over the questions you select, with the 2024 guide on the mba.com interface. You can pick the exact number of questions you want from each type and difficulty, to simulate a practice test.
For example, on average, a Data Insights section has (based on 7 takes of official practice tests 1 & 2):
• 6 Data Sufficiency
• 5 Two-Part Analysis
• 4 Multi-Source Reasoning (either 3 or 6, in sets of 3)
• 3 Graphics Interpretation
• 2 Table Analysis
Creating these "fake tests", with a timer of 45 minutes, works well for Quant and Data Insights, and can help you work on your time management, but you won't be able to review your answers and change them with any extra time, like you would on the real format. Additionally, for Reading Comp, there is a bug. You have to select all of the questions at one time; otherwise, it often gives only 1 question at a time from each passage.
If you decide to invest in OG 2024, the best value is to buy the bundle of 4 physical books on Amazon for $59, vs $111 bought individually at mba.com. Then I recommend entering the codes from the books to use the online question banks at mba.com.
https://www.amazon.com/Official-Guide-2 ... 1394187750This bundle has 1,718 questions.
Below, I've attached screenshots of the 4 question banks for this bundle. There's also extra questions in the Diagnostic Exams, under the "Practice Exams" tab on the left (57 in the main OG, 18 DI, 24 Verbal, 15 Quant)
